13th September 2026 | St. Theresa of Child Jesus Parish, Airoli
Organized by: Women’s Cell – Core Team
Topic- Good Touch and bad Touch
Staying safe on phone and social media
The Women’s Cell Core Team conducted a Child Safety & Digital Safety Awareness Programme for Catechism students, with the objective of empowering children to recognize unsafe situations, protect themselves and confidently seek help.
Good Touch – Bad Touch
A child-friendly and interactive session was conducted for the First Holy Communion and younger Catechism students. The children were sensitized to safe and unsafe touch, personal boundaries and the importance of speaking up.
They were encouraged to:
- Understand that their body belongs to them.
- Recognise uncomfortable or inappropriate behaviour.
- Say “NO”, move away and inform a trusted adult.
- Speak up without fear, shame or guilt.
Staying Safe on Phones & Social Media
For the higher-grade Catechism students, the session focused on responsible and safe use of smartphones and social media.
Key messages included protecting passwords and personal information, avoiding unknown online contacts, not sharing private photographs or locations, identifying fake profiles and suspicious links, handling cyberbullying, and thinking carefully before posting or forwarding content.
Students were also encouraged to maintain a healthy balance between screen time and real-life activities and to approach parents, teachers or trusted adults whenever they feel uncomfortable or unsafe online.
Our Message
The sessions reinforced a simple but powerful message:
“Be Aware. Be Confident. Speak Up. Stay Safe.”
The initiative highlighted the Women’s Cell’s commitment to nurturing a safe, informed and supportive parish community, where children feel empowered to protect themselves and know that they can always reach out for help.
The Women’s Cell Core Team extends its heartfelt thanks to the Catechism team, parents and students for their participation and support in making this awareness initiative meaningful and impactful.
