STCJ Airoli Church Feast Celebration at St. Joseph's Church Hall
Updated: 5 hours ago
The feast of our patron saint - St. Theresa is on the 1st of October and is celebrated on the Sunday that follows & our parish priest Fr. Samuel Ribeiro had a very different idea to celebrate our Church feast this year as he thought of organizing an entertainment program for all parishioners along with dinner, an event that we haven't experienced for over 10 years now.
Following a very insightful Triduum and Feast Mass, the celebration was planned on Sunday, 4th October from 7pm at St. Joseph's Church Hall, Sector 10, Airoli. With almost 500 parishioners registered, this was definitely going to be a memorable event.
As planned, the event started with energy elements and had a lot of games for all age groups, right from kids to senior citizens and from youth to married couples as well. There was a special game for our STCJ Karaoke Stars too. There were a lot of community wise activities planned which had elements of fun, unity and most importantly - bonding as a parish. Spot prizes and random games made sure that many parishioners went home with a prize.
The highlight of the event was a sensational singing flash mob by the girls of our youth group featuring Shanelle Sethi, Cassandra Moraes, Anaisha Fernandes, Velvina D'cunha and Yvonne Sequeira which had all the parishioners singing along and vibing to their tunes & also a hilarious comedy act by Mr. Edwin Gras that had everyone laughing.
The night ended with a vote of thanks by Fr. Samuel wherein he said a special thanks to everyone who made this event possible and a success with their work & it was followed by prize distribution wherein all winners were felicitated by our parish priest again with Mr. Vendell D'souza capturing all these moments in his camera.
It was then time for dance and dinner wherein community members and parishioners showed their unity despite some obstacles to make it a successful event & everyone went home with a smile on their faces. Events like these are important as they show us the meaning of community bonding, teamwork and above all - it unites us via the love we have for our Church.
