Introduction of Dimensions Global Christian Chamber of Commerce in St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Parish, Airoli. DGCCC is a business networking and support organization for Christian entrepreneurs to connect, collaborate, and grow their businesses.
A session was organized in the parish on STARTING & SUCCEEDING AS AN ENTREPRENEUR on 20th July 2025 as part of parish outreach initiatives.
At a time when finding and holding onto traditional jobs is becoming increasingly uncertain, the need to empower individuals—especially the youth—with the mind-sets and tools of entrepreneurship has never been greater. Responding to this call, a two-hour interactive session on “Starting and Succeeding as an Entrepreneur” was conducted by Vincent D’Silva, Chairman Emeritus of the Dimensions Global Christian Chamber of Commerce at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Parish, Airoli.
The session was inaugurated by Fr. Samuel Ribeiro, Parish Priest, who emphasized the importance of developing entrepreneurial skills in today’s competitive and fast-changing world. He encouraged participants to consider enterprise-building not just as a livelihood option, but as a way to contribute meaningfully to society.
The workshop—practical, inspiring, and content-rich—was attended by 83 enthusiastic participants, most of them young in age and all young at heart. Vincent set the tone with real-world case studies of dynamic young entrepreneurs who turned bold ideas into thriving ventures. He walked the audience through the rewards and challenges of entrepreneurship, key steps to evaluate business ideas, and practical ways to transform concepts into viable enterprises.
Participants were introduced to powerful tools such as the Minimum Viable Product, the Business Model Canvas, and the essential elements of a Business Plan covering branding, marketing, finance, and operations. The importance of choosing the right Business Model, understanding Statutory Compliances, and applying appropriate pricing strategies was highlighted with relatable examples.
Key insights into funding options, the weightages of different sources, and the 12 essential steps to pitch a business successfully offered participants valuable direction. The audience was introduced to the Start-up India resources and avenues for Women Entrepreneurs, opening doors to networks, mentorship, and government support.
For existing business owners looking to scale up, the session explored strategies to drive profitable growth and strengthen the seven core functions—marketing, sales, operations, R&D, finance, HR, and leadership. Vincent emphasized that a future-ready business stands on three pillars: Strategies that are Magnetic & Profitable, Systems that are Simple & Sustainable and People who are Competent & Committed. He also shared frameworks to build a High-Performance Culture and maintain momentum through STOP (Strategic, Tactical, Operational, Performance) Review Meetings.
Dr. Jennifer Lobo Dias, the Chapter Head of the Dimensions Navi Mumbai Chapter, and Sylvester Rodrigues, the Chairman of Dimensions, spoke passionately about the support ecosystem available through Dimensions to help Christian entrepreneurs connect, collaborate, and grow. They also highlighted the various Community Outreach Initiatives the platform undertakes to nurture aspiring change makers.
The workshop was deeply appreciated by all who attended, and was seen as a grace-filled moment—awakening fresh purpose, inspiring faith-driven action, and igniting the spirit of enterprise in the hearts of both current and future entrepreneurs. A follow-up session and similar workshops are planned across other parishes in Navi Mumbai ahead.
