St. Anthony Community - Children's Day & World Day of the Poor

On the occasion of Children’s Day and World Day of the Poor, we the community of St. Anthony, Sector 2, visited today 4th Dec an Anganwadi situated in Chinchpada, Airoli. This Anganwadi had about 30 children in the age group of 3 to 5 years. We started the outreach program with a prayer song followed by an icebreaker and then with games – Filling the basket with potatoes; Holding the balloon and lastly with eating jalebi tied on a string. The children were very excited and this also brought other bigger children to play these games. We then distributed gifts to each child which comprised of a school bag, tiffin box and snacks. Seeing the joy and excitement of the children made us community volunteers nostalgic too as it brought back memories of our school days when we too played such games. All in all, it was a beautiful day, quite satisfying and well spent.
