December 7th, 2025 will go down in the history books as our STCJ Warriors Airoli Girls Cricket team won the DKC Girls Inter-Parish Cricket Tournament which was organized wonderfully by the parishioners of Divya Kripa Church, Kharghar at Skygoal Turf, Kharghar. The girls team led by Ms. Elita Lobo began practicing for this tournament right from the moment the poster was released in November. Understanding the importance of training, they made sure to make time, work on their strengths and weaknesses & also prepare as a team under the guidance of Mr. Johnson Gaikwad. This was the full squad for the tournament.

They say you win your trophies while you grind it out during practice and you just collect it at the time of the tournament & that's what our girls did. They started off by defeating team DKC Kharghar by chasing 23 runs in just 2.4 overs and then by beating team Rosarian Royals, Dockyard by chasing 31 runs in only 2.2 overs. This also guaranteed them a top place finish in the league stage with 1 match left to play. The final league match came up against Sacred Heart Church, Vashi who defeated our girls by chasing 17 runs to set up the same match in the finals. Our Warriors showed everyone what true warriors are made of, they were ready to get hurt, ready to bear the pain but never ready to surrender. The girls were seen diving, jumping, running as fast as they could, saving every single run and boundary, getting up after every fall and the final could have only gone one way. Sacred Heart Church, Vashi started off well with their batting, however, some great fielding and bowling at the end of the first innings made sure that the target to chase in the finals was only 24 runs in 4 overs which came down to a run every ball and the girls went in to bat with the right plan of action, they took singles creating pressure on the fielders and bowlers who could not help but give extras in an attempt to block those singles, some balls were targeted by our batters who tried getting a boundary as and when they could. At the end, our warriors chased 24 in 2.5 overs and brought home the Winners Trophy at the DKC Girls Inter-Parish Cricket Tournament. Ms. Annie Nadar was named the Player of the Tournament for her all round performance with the bat, ball and with her fielding which also helped her get 2 Player of the Match awards. Ms. Leeann D'cunha was named the Player of the Match in the finals for her excellent over wherein she gave only 1 run and took 2 crucial wickets.

The girls don't aim at stopping anytime soon with discussions of regular practice sessions in place regardless of any upcoming tournaments happening and with the right mindset of winning every tournament they participate in.
