STCJ Sports 2025 Inter-Parish Tournaments Recap

We ended 2024 on a high and with a promise of winning more silverware for our Church and that's exactly what we did throughout 2025 and here is a quick recap of the Inter-parish sporting events that happened in 2025 and of all the trophies that we won whilst helping the name of our parish shine brighter throughout our Diocese. January 12th 2025 - Deanery Sports Day Venue - Sacred Heart Church, Vashi Category - For Navi Mumbai youth aged 16 to 25 Result - Silver for our Parish Highlights - Gold medals - Cricket (girls), Football (boys), Tug of War (mixed) Bronze medal - Table Tennis (mixed)

March 30th 2025 - STCJ Cricket Champions Cup for Girls & Women Venue – Mauli Turf, Airoli Category – For all girls and women from the Mumbai Diocese Result - Silver for our Parish Highlight - Ms. Leeann D'cunha was the highest wicket taker of the tournament April 27th 2025 - STCJ Cricket Champions Cup for Boys & Men Venue - Mauli Turf, Airoli Category - For all boys and men from the Navi Mumbai Deanery Result - Gold for our Parish Highlights - Mr. Savaryson Nadar was the highest wicket taker of the tournament Team STCJ was the only undefeated team of the tournament

September 28th 2025 - Serve Spin Smash Table Tennis Tournament Venue - Divya Kripa Church, Kharghar Category - For all girls and women from the Mumbai Diocese Result - Silver for our Parish Highlight - Ms. Elita Lobo reached the final and won the Runner Up Trophy & Medal November 9th 2025 - Antonian Cup Football Tournament Venue - Bright High School, Bhandup Category - For all boys and men from the Mumbai Diocese Result - Silver for our Parish Highlights - Mr. John Varghese was the top scorer of the tournament Mr. Jayson Nadar was the best goalkeeper of the tournament Team STCJ scored the most goals and conceded the least goals in the tournament November 16th 2025 - NMD Table Tennis Champions Cup Venue - Karde Sports Academy, Panvel Category - For all Navi Mumbai Deanery parishioners Result - Gold for our Parish Highlights - Team STCJ had the highest number of wins STCJ was the only parish to have 2 teams in the semi finals Mr. Ajit Fernandes and the pair of Mr. Dennies David & Mr. Ashley Coutinho were unbeaten throughout the tournament

November 30th 2025 - DKC Cricket Cup for Boys & Men Venue - Skygoal Turf, Kharghar Category - For all boys & men from the Mumbai Diocese Result - Silver for our Parish Highlights - Mr. Ajit Fernandes won the best fielder of the tournament Mr. Aryan Colaso won the best catch of the tournament Team STCJ ended up being the best Navi Mumbai team at the tournament December 7th 2025, DKC Cricket Cup for Girls & Women Venue - Skygoal Turf, Kharghar Category - For all girls & women from the Mumbai Diocese Result - Gold for our Parish Highlight - Ms. Annie Nadar was the player of the tournament

Along with these, we participated in some more Inter-Parish tournaments for Football & Cricket. Unfortunately 4 of those tournaments ended up in defeat in the semi finals to the eventual champions and 1 tournament saw us go out in the group stage too. With 3 Champions & 5 Runners Up Trophies across 3 different sports, 2025 is now our best year ever when it comes to Inter-Parish Sports. We would like to thank all the players, their families and all our parishioners who always support the teams and players unconditionally, all these trophies belong to all our parishioners too. 2026 will have a lot more inter-parish tournaments organized by us and even by other parishes, our aim will be to win every single tournament that we participate in.
