On the peaceful morning of July 26, 2025, our St. Anthony Community (Sector 2) came together for a truly special purpose—to visit the elderly members of our community. The timing couldn’t have been more meaningful, as it was the Feast of St. Joachim and St. Anne, the grandparents of Jesus. It was the perfect day to honour the grandparents among us—the ones who have quietly shaped our lives with their presence, love, and faith.
Joined by our community coordinator, animators, and the community members, we set out with one intention: to let them know they’re remembered and deeply cherished. As we stepped into their homes, there was a quiet joy that filled the air. They welcomed us warmly, and though some spoke softly and others simply smiled, each interaction felt special.
They shared glimpses of their lives—sometimes a memory, sometimes a thought—and through those small exchanges, we found ourselves learning so much. Their words carried wisdom, strength, and a quiet kind of grace that only comes from living a full life.
We paused together to pray, lifting up their intentions and asking God to bless them with continued peace and good health. That moment of prayer felt powerful—simple, yet deeply touching. It reminded us of the many prayers they must have whispered over the years for their families and for the community.
We also offered small gifts as tokens of love and appreciation. But what truly mattered was the time we shared—the warmth, the presence, the genuine connection. Before leaving, we made sure that every grandparent we visited had one thing: a smile on their face.
This visit wasn’t just a community activity—it was a moment of grace. A reminder that sometimes, all it takes to brighten someone’s day is to show up, listen, and care. Just as St. Joachim and St. Anne were pillars in the life of Jesus, our grandparents continue to be quiet anchors of strength and faith in our lives.
It was a day we’ll always remember—simple, sincere, and full of heart.
