Grandparents’ Day is a special occasion dedicated to honoring the love, wisdom and lifelong contributions of grandparents. It is this day we express our gratitude for their unconditional love, care, guidance and the values they pass on to younger generations.
Celebrating Grandparents Day on Saturday, 25th July brought all the community members of all ages together on one platform, enjoying, playing games, felicitating them with bouquets of flowers and sweets (sugar-free). The grandchildren of our community made handmade greeting cards and, with their heartfelt messages, brought a huge smile to their faces. The flowers lit up their hearts and games refreshed and awoke the childhood spirit to play games. This small act of our presence made their day fruitful and ignited their mind and body with a positive approach.
We played memory games for the grannies who have crossed 75 years. We could test the memories of our grandparents by playing memory games with them.
Our grandparents also shared a beautiful experience with moral with the younger generation. All the community members sang for them and celebrated their day with cake cutting and playing music which they love, mainly old songs.
Evergreen old grandparent pairs were made to play a game of asking questions to each other to know how much they knew each other and made them propose live before us. An act which was never done before.
The limelight of our celebration was one of the grandparents who proposed to each other, claiming their love for each other. It was a happening moment for their son to watch his parents propose.
One of our new community members, who is also a counsellor by profession, gave a heart-touching speech about grandparents to the children and the occasion ended with a small refreshment.
