Our parish witnessed a grand and joy-filled celebration of Parents’ Day on 27th July 2025 at St. Joseph’s Church Hall. This much-anticipated annual event brought together our vibrant parish community in an evening full of love, gratitude, and entertainment. This year too, the event was beautifully organized by our parish youth and Sunday School teachers, under the able guidance of our beloved Parish Priest, Fr. Samuel Ribeiro.
Around 100 Sunday School children, from Grade 1 up to Confirmation, enthusiastically participated in the celebration, supported by 16 dedicated Sunday School teachers. The event saw an overwhelming attendance of around 200 parents and grandparents, all eagerly waiting to witness their children perform with pride and joy.
The evening began with a blessing and prayer by Fr. Samuel. What followed was a 3-hour spectacular show emceed by the dynamic duo, Ronald and Shanelle, who kept the audience thoroughly entertained with lively jokes, engaging games, spot prizes, and heartfelt moments.
The stage came alive with a series of vibrant performances by our Sunday School children, showcasing their talents in singing, dancing, and skits - each act reflecting love and appreciation for parents and grandparents. A special highlight was the youth band’s medley of songs, which captivated the entire audience, leaving them singing along and tapping their feet. The youth dance performance at the end of the show was truly the cherry on top - leaving everyone uplifted and inspired.
The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by our Parish Youth Director - Mr. Selwyn Santmajor, followed by a few words of gratitude from Fr. Samuel who also felicitated the Respected Trustee of St. Joseph's Church - Mr. A.C. John. As a sweet ending to a beautiful evening, tasty snack boxes were served to all attendees. Indeed, it was an evening to remember - a perfect blend of fun, faith, and family - celebrating the gift of parents and grandparents who are the pillars of our homes and parish. -Cleona Tauro
