The Airoli Premier League 3 promised to be a blockbuster right from the day of the auctions. With 2 new teams and 2 teams from Season 2, APL 3 had a different feel altogether. This was an underarm turf Cricket tournament which was played at Mauli Turf, Opposite Mazidun High School, Sector 8A, Airoli on Sunday, 22nd February. The teams were chosen via a fun auction without involving any money in the presence of the 4 captains who used their skills and experience to assemble the best team possible & these were the final squads.

This is how the group stage games went by Loyal Challengers beat Saber Storms by 13 runs Allstar Hawks beat Rising Phoenix by 17 runs Saber Storms beat Rising Phoenix with 4 balls left Allstar Hawks beat Loyal Challengers with 3 balls left Saber Storms beat Allstar Hawks with 2 overs left Rising Phoenix beat Loyal Challengers with 3 balls left Saber Storms entered the finals directly after being the table toppers after the league stage and the eliminator was between Allstar Hawks (2nd) and Loyal Challengers (3rd). In a match that had a lot of aggression and passion, it was Allstar Hawks who came out on top by chasing 60 runs with 4 balls left to enter the finals. The finals did not go as planned for the table toppers Saber Storms as they managed to score 27 runs in the first innings and Allstar Hawks chased the score with 13 balls left to become the champions of the Airoli Premier League for the first time. Mr. Jeston Dsouza from Saber Storms was the top run scorer with 138 runs and also the MVP of the tournament, Mr. Alistair Dsilva was the highest wicket taker with 6 wickets in 3 games. The father daughter duo of Mr. Lancy D'Cunha (Allstar Hawks) and Ms. Leeann D'Cunha (Saber Storms) were the MVP for the 35 or above player category and for the girls category respectively. Mr. Lancy D'Cunha was the oldest player on the turf and he showed everyone that age is definitely just a number with his overall performance.

The event ended with a wonderful prize distribution ceremony and many photos. The team will now focus on the upcoming Inter parish events in April with a hope of adding 2 more trophies to our existing trophy cabinet.
